Yeah, this cruft means it's actually doing exactly the right thing. :-/ It's testing error conditions, but several of those error conditions produce log messages as a side effect.

That "ZODB3-3.8.1-py2.4-linux-x86_64.egg" part of the path implies you're still testing the 3.8.1 release, not the SVN trunk. Shane
