i was wondering if someone has already developed a strategy how to update products in zope.

for example, you are running a site that uses the Confera-1.2.0 product and it is populated by several thousands of messages. now DC releases a bug-fix version 1.3.0 of this product. you can put that in your lib/python/Products folder, restart zope and newly created confera's will be version 1.3.0 of course.

All instances, including the ones created before the update, will be 1.3.0. The Zope database does not store the code of the product, just the data. -Michel
