Is there any way to have a user login (similar to portal/login manager) but hook it in to the root acl_user list? I tried to decipher it from the above mentioned products but I can't seem to do it. As for using the above products, they are way more complicated for my use. I just need someone to login via a link to a form, and then assign a cookie. which I need to stay alive for a set period I specify.
