[Ape] Zope 2.8 compatibility

Has anyone done any work to make Ape Zope 2.8 compatible? 

I'm thinking about working on this as we need a way to move our ZODB into
the filesystem for revision control and Ape seems the best candidate. But I
don't want to duplicate other peoples work if possible.
