Hi,
allow me to introduce myself as I have been nominated for the election
of the Zope Foundation's Board.
I am a software developer and have been using Zope since about 2001. I
also co-founded gocept, a company completely based on providing Zope
consulting, development and hosting and dedicated to free software by
heart. I am also chairman and co-founder of the German Zope User Group
(DZUG).
I have been involved as a committer with the Zope community since the
Zope 3 sprint in Berlin (that was around 2002 IIRC) and have since
touched code pretty much everywhere in the repository, but especially in
the Zope 3 projects and ZODB.
My main use of Zope nowadays revolves around the development of
applications that don't fit the classical content-management story but
cover all types of software from all kinds of industries. I appreciate
Zope (especially the component architecture) for it's flexibility and
robustness, but I acknowledge the trouble new people have to enter this
domain.
Excuse me that I don't give a detailed list of action items right here,
especially as my fellow other candidates gave them already.
However, in the case that I should be elected to serve on the board I'd
like to make our community processes more transparent and fluent and
make the results of our work more accessible to people outside the
community. For me this includes various issues including technical,
organisational and philosophical ones.
Best regards,
Christian
