I am writing to ask for your vote as one of the seven board members for
the Zope Foundation board. I have been an active Python web developer
for twelve years, and have been working with Zope since Digital
Creations announced that they were open-sourcing what was then called
Principia at IPC8 in Houston, 1998. At that time, I used Zope to build
project intranets for my consulting clients.
After a five year stint working as a senior consultant and the CMF
project leader at Digital Crations / Zope Corp (2000 - 2005), I went
back out on my own. Later, I formed Agendaless Consulting, a Zope-based
consulting company with two other former DC/ZC employees, Chris
McDonough and Paul Everitt. Our business today remains firmly based
around Python, Zope and related technologies.
I served as a ZF board member representing the "committer" class under
the original bylaws from May of 2007 through last year's election, the
first under the new bylaws, and as a board member and vice-chair this
past year. I would be happy and pleased to continue serving the
foundation membership as a board member for 2010.
Thank you for your consideration,
Tres.
