Well put.

Again, Grok needs to follow at Python. Python doesn't feel like it locks
you in. It feels natural to write code in it (at least to me). It makes
the right choices obvious. It still has tremendous flexibility.

With Zope 3 and a little bit of care, Grok has the "framework of
choices" story covered more than adequately. That's why Grok needs to
focus on making particular choices obvious.

The oddness about this template neutrality debate is that here Grok is
more like Zope 3 - we look into providing *new* choices. Since we have
the opportunity to review templating in a newish framework, I'd like to
take it. There are certainly dangers associated with it. One way to deal
with those dangers is to make sure that the current ZPT way of doing
things continues to work, whatever else we do.

Regards,

Martijn
