Hi there,

on the yesterday meeting of the local preparation group for the upcoming
Neanderthal-Sprint there was the idea to setup a first version of the
new Grok website during the Sprint.

The background: we planned to have two groups at the sprint. On the one
hand the supporters group of people yet not too familiar with all
internals of Grok, but also interested in contributing. On the other
hand the core group of people already involved more deeply.

The tasks for the core group were already discussed on this list.

The supporters group, however, had no special target yet and staring at
other people hacking all day might become somewhat boring. So the idea
was born, that this group could start with the setup of the new Grok
site, based on Sebastians Design and the whole discussion here on the
list.

There are several experienced Plone users in the supporters group (users
of other CMS/frameworks as well) and there will be enough opporunity to
discuss everything with the core group.

Also the list is planned to be involved in the effort, namely Sebastian
and others who already stated their interest in developing the website.

To state it clearly: this does not mean a decision for or against Plone
or another solution. A main target will instead be to get a decision
during the sprint.

Right now, this is only an idea and we wanted to know what others think
about it. So, what do you think?

Kind regards,

Uli
