Exactly. I was going to suggest the same thing.

Note that grokcore.component will work as-is in Zope 2. There shouldn't
be anything you'd have to do to make it work, which means, of course,
you can start building the Plone-specific stuff on top of it.
P.S.: On a technical note, I should add that I'm not entirely satisfied
with some of the details, for instance the "Context" base class that was
introduced. So some details may change.
