My mistake...

I forgot to add the include directive in the configure.zcml before:

  <includeDependencies package="." />

So, having

  <include package="grok" />
  <include package="my.template" />
  <includeDependencies package="." />

works like a charm.

I still have some problems with the automated tests, but that's another
story
