[Grok-dev] "Zope3 on Rails"

My 2¢:

I'd stay as far away from being associated with rails as possible. 
Whether deserved or not, rails is having some serious image problems 
right now. (To name a few: The "fuck you" attitude of the core 
developers, with the creator of rails saying on record again and again 
that he built it to scratch his own (company's) itches only, the 
reported scaling issues that resulted in, and the consequent community 
meltdowns.)

One of the things that Python and Zope have always had over other 
languages and platforms in my experience is a helpful community. Sure 
there are egos within these communities, but the ruby/rails brand of 
arrogance is quite uncommon. Of course some concepts in RoR informed 
some choices in Grok, and there's no reason to hide that, but let's not 
try to hitch a ride on the 'cool' factor of rails because it's rapidly 
fading in any case, and I think it's a big part of the reason for said 
community problems.

Anyway, cool is *so* last century ;)
