[Gsoc] GSOC Project Proposal "zope without zodb"

i've added the following to http://wiki.zope.org/gsoc/SummerOfCode2008

Implement a package that makes it possible to run zope without zodb.  
The major advantage of this is, that no zeo server is needed anymore  
if another database (e.g sql) is used. Creating needed objects such as  
sites or utilities can be done at startup time and should be  
configured via configuration files.


There is already an interested student from austria, who would like to  
work on this.

Any suggestions?
