I was asked as well, just before I joined DC. Also, Ken Manheimer and
Michel Pelletier (who is writing the O'Reilly offer), were also asked by
the same publisher. We were asked to either write a book, or write an
outline for a book.

I am afraid I horribly neglected the contact, although I had told them I
was running low on time. =(

I am sure there have been more offers to others as well. Zope is
becoming very popular, and the publisher don't want to miss the boat. 

Talking of publishers, have the ZDP people ever answered that Open
Source publisher I forwarded to the list?
