      Mixing acquisition and traversal can get complex. Consider the
      URL */fruit/apple/orange/strawberry/banana*. This URL is
      functional but confusing. Here's an even more perverse but legal
      URL */fruit/apple/orange/orange/apple/apple/banana*.
