If it's working without the asyncore patch, I'd say let it alone.
I'll ask on the Medusa list about what asyncore should be doing.  I'm
not entirely clear on what should happen.

The traces you provided earlier show definite bugs -- EINTR being
undefined for one.  I'll fix those.
