Summary: Message too long
Initial Comment:
Using ZEO2, and Zope current CVS.
Importing a large export file produces these
log entries:
Jul 11 16:35:08
m1.zc.geminidataloggers.com
ZODB[14617]: Commiting subtransaction of
size 27554342
Jul 11 16:35:51

zrpc:14617[14617]: No error message
supplied : error: (90, 'Message too long')
Jul 11 16:35:51
m1.zc.geminidataloggers.com ClientStorage
14617[14617]: Disconnected from storage
Jul 11 16:35:51
m1.zc.geminidataloggers.com ClientStorage
14617[14617]: Connected to storage via
<ManagedConnection ('192.168.4.1',
2929)>
Im not sure which message is too long. First
guess was that this might be caused by
passing a 27M string to send(). I tweaked
handle_write, but this error must be raised
elsewhere.
No more time to debug right now....

The problem is at least partly in the zLOG backend. We saw
a similar problem with zLogger (is that the right name?).
If you try to pass a too-large string to a SOCK_DGRAM
socket, you'll get this error. With zLogger, it was dying
if the log message was too big. We considered this a bug in
the logger.
