[ZODB-Dev] change date vs. save date

Hi,

is there any chance that Zope/ZODB will distinguish between the datetim=
e an
object is saved (bobobase_modification_time) and the datetime it was
actually changed?

When I copy an object, the new copy gets a new saving time -- ok. But i=
t
isn't necessarily changed. In my dreams, the change time is changed onl=
y
when the object is changed. This would greatly simplify to tell if two
copies of an object are equal. And a the change dates of objects
re-imported from a .zexp file would remain the same.
