Yes, I agree that has advantages.

The cost is that ZEO then has to implement something to combine its exten=
sion=20
declarations (eg, SIMPLEAUTH) with its storages extension declarations (e=
g,=20
enter_snapshot_mode). This is not just a cost for ZEO, but also every sto=
rage=20
class which wrappers another storage. This may be a worthwhile cost.
