I brainstormed some more ideas.  Like most of the Python standard 
library, the name I like now is short, bland, and unclaimed: "remapper". 
  What do you think of that name?

FWIW, here are some other names I thought of.  If you want a different 
name, one of these might help.

Some of them are OK. :-)
