I'm not sure either, but if it were possible it might make ZODB even
more attractive as a production database.  "Partitioning strategy" is
definitely the domain of the application, but it would be good if
ZODB/AS provided the support for this.

Just an idea germ.  I'm hoping someone with more clue will pick it up
and say, "Yes, this is good, we should do this here and that there and
let's get started..." :-)
