It may just be me.  I looked at zdaemon and it seemed generally useful, 
so I used it-- not for starting my ZEO server, but for some maintenance 
process related to my ZODB app.  Debian has a "start-stop-daemon" 
utility available, but I found zdaemon more suitable for some reason I 
can't recall now.
