We are evaluating the use of a mailing list provider linked from within our PTK portal: www.eGroups.com
Primary Advantages:
1. Simple to set up mailing list service (with eGroups)
2. Simple to link into your PTK portal (link to eGroups in new browser window)
3. Available immediately
Major Disadvantages:
1. Portal members must register again with eGroups
2. Members have two distinctly different user interfaces to work through
3. Your email service security options are not as rich as Zope can provide
4. Members are exposed to advertising outside of your control
5. The reliability of eGroups is unknown
I too would appreciate recommendations on a 100% Zope solution...

Subject: [Zope-PTK] Web-based email service within PTK??
Greetings and Zopinations -
I want to provide email service to the users of my portal (operating
similar to other web-based email services such mail.yahoo.com and
hotmail.com).
Anyone have such web-based mail running within PTK? I've looked at Zope
products WorldPilot and NotMail2, but haven't tried to marry them to the
PTK (yet). There are also many non-Zope products (a la sqwebmail at
http://www.inter7.com/sqwebmail/) but I haven't (yet) tried to wire one of
those in either.
Your experience/advice/warnings are sought. Thanks.
