[Zope-PTK] Membership problems

We've been having some trouble with the membership product (2.2.2, 0.7.6,
latest ZPatterns and LoginManager.)  basically, users cannot login.  That
is, I create a user, it syays user created (and the UserSource lists the
user as being added), yet when I click the "click here to login" link it
doesn't work, it asks for user and password.

In fact, it never recoginzes the username/password pair.  Any idea what may
be causing this problem, or how I can debug it?
