I had seen this once:

  I had updated my CMF and see, all icons showed as broken.
  I was convinced, that such an obvious problem surely
  would be noticed and soon fixed.
  With the next CMF update on the next day, the problem
  disappeared.


Maybe, you will be as lucky as I have been....
