I think you can do this by filling the full_metadata_edit_form, from the
metadata by adding an Effective Date. You can also add an Expiration Date.

So you can approve it, but it will not be published until the Effective
Date.

Does the current CMF support setting an automatic publication date on
content?

IOW, can a content object be approved for publication, yet not be
visible until a certain date?

This has come up as a requirement for the news.gnome.org site, currently
implemented as a Squishdot installation.
