[Zope-CMF] how to modify the action box

Hi,

I haven't even finished reading the Zope book but I was hoping I could get some early answers from the more experienced people  :-)

In cmf-portal, how can I get action box to be modified that only few menus are available (ie log in, news etc..).

I am trying to modify the cmf-portal so that when a user logs in (other then the manager) can only see 
     log-in/log-out
     Join
     Edit/View
     Comment
