This is actually one of the main reasons I use ZEO :-)

Yeah, you have to make sure you're using the same version of Zope and ZEO.

No, you don't have to have the same versions of Products/external methods/etc.

And one of your clients can start up in DEBUG mode while the others stay in
production mode.
And one of your clients can have ZDebug installed while the others don't ;-)
And some of your clients don't actually have to be running Zope ;-)

You can test out and debug new versions of products as long as they use the same
daat structures.
If you change data structures, then you need to be a little more careful.

You can have long running and resource intensive processes running on another
box (or operating system)...
