Hi Chris,
you are luckier than me. I had the same problem as you and got nearly nuts
till I resolved it.
The problem is as I narrowed it down somehow related to the differences in
CR/LF's between windoze and linux.
If you get cmf-head by help of win-cvs IT WILL NOT WORK!
The only way (that worked for me) was to get CMF-head to a linux box, and
copy it to a my windox machine. Downloading it to the windoze machine and
copying it to the linux box did not work.
To veryfy that this is the actual problem start zope from start.bat (I
assume you are not on linux) with -D as a parameter.
As soon as you access either a ZMI with a a CMF-Site (or create a new one if
there is none) you will see tracebacks in the dos box from where you
started.
OK what can you do if you have no Linux machine idling at your place?. If
you want to, I can give you access to the CMF-Head on the linuxbox I use to
downlod it from the Zope site. From there you can donload it by help of
ftpmirror which is part of a normal Python installation.
Just let me know
Robert
