[Zope-CMF] Setting local role programmatically

Hi,

i have the following situation: a user generates some new content
which has to be reviewed by a reviewer. After the reviewer has
published the content, he doesn't want to review every single change
(typos, etc.) which is made by the owner, so i think of giving the
owner the local role 'manager' after publication of the object.
I change the default workflow by adding a script, which is called
during the 'publish' transition.
Now the question(s)?

Does this make sense?
If it does, how do i set the local role 'manager' programmatically for
an object? Which API?
