On the CMF site, look at the docs.  Browse the CMF mailing lists, links
found on the front page of www.zope.org.  I have found the lists the single
most valuable 'piece' of information about the CMF, other than the CMF code
itself.

Plone built on the CMF, and is a more out-of-the-box experience than the
CMF.
