[Zope-CMF] Help- cmf version problem

I am flopping back and forth between v 1.2 and 1.3
1.3 lets new users automatically edit their own index_html pages ---1.2 does
not
1.2 lets people login with my customized login_form (stored in 'custom'
folder) but 1.3 does not

I keep copying the folders back and forth in the products directory but I
clearly need a fix before I can get new users to start using the thing.
Any ideas or upgrades on the way?
