[Zope-CMF] Add content list- how to restrict specific objs?

Hi,
I have extra things like PIM installed and I do not want those items as well
as certain standard CMF items showing up for members to add.  I thought that
if I took away ADD rights that this would prevent them from showing up when
clicking on NEW, but does not seem to work.  I am really not sure where to
make this setting change.  I have looked in many locations but I must not be
looking in the right place.  I just want manager to only see the full
listing and regular members see a partial list.
