[Zope-CMF] LocalFS rendered in flat mode (script) ?

Hi all,

I try to display a local file system directory contents in a kind of
"flat mode" so that web users don't have to browse down the various
directories.
Unfortunately, I did not succeed to make it work. Did anyone implement
such script (external method) ? (without the use of the dtml-tree !!)

Icing on the cake would be to have a pre-defined nesting level depth
(let say 3), user selectable if user accepts the processing time to go
deeper for a full display.
