[Zope-CMF] Portal Catalogs

In trying to set up topic queries against a Portal Catalog, it 
appears that folders and/or portal folders are not cataloged.=
 This is 
for a newly created CMF site, with no changes to the catalog 
defaults. If I go into the portal_catalog catalog properties, I=
 only 
see 11 records for documents, not folders. If I try and set up a=
 
topic to return type 'folder' or type 'portal folder' they return=
 
empty responses. When I go into the Find Objects tab for the=
 catalog, 
I am set to find objects of 'All types'.

My goal is to use a topic to retrieve folders with a specific=
 piece 
of metadata.

Ideas?
