Well, enough of this has been implemented that it could be back ported now ;-)

That said, it needs refactoring and optimisation, so if you are planning to 
backport, let me know.

That said, this'd be a major PITA to apply as an upgrade to a site.

Perhaps for CMF 2.0? ;-)
