Doesn't sound like there is anything that should be changed in CMF HEAD. 
Regarding CMFSubversionBrowser a MultiHook solution might help.

Yes. It would ;) And I still believe <http://cmf.zope.org/> would be the 
right place. If they are moved to other places like 
<http://www.plone.org/Members/andym/CMF_1_4_Roadmap>, they get lost as well.
