HEAD of which? CMF? Archetypes? Zope?

Indeed. Give it a whirl and I think you'll find quite a few
dependencies are in the Archetypes skins. 

I managed to get things *mostly* working with Archetypes HEAD,
CMF 1.4.2, and Zope 2.7.0. But I hit a wall with properties/metadata
and was pretty tired of the chase by then.

I tried to add a page to the archetypes wiki on plone.org, but I got
insufficient privileges. Writing the webmaster...
