BTW, http://svn.zope.org/repos/main/CMF/branches/2.2 uses 
Products.GenericSetup trunk.  Should that be changed to branch 1.6? 
Well, I have now committed this change as it seems reasonable.

GenericSetup trunk has an extra change in unicode and string handling in 
the exporters, which is probably safe, but I guess has a danger in it of 
being backwards incompatible for some instances, which is why the 
version has been increased to 1.7.x there.
