Here is how I run the tests w/o zctl:

   $ export INSTANCE_HOME=/home/tseaver/projects/cmf_test
   $ export SOFTWARE_HOME=/usr/local/zope/Zope-2.4-head
   $ export PYTHONPATH=$SOFTWARE_HOME
   $ export ZEO_SERVER_PORT=9001 # my 'custom_zodb.py' need this
   $ /usr/local/bin/python2.1 $INSTANCE_HOME/all_cmf_tests.py

and they all pass.  The equivalent batch file syntax is left as
an exercise for the reader. :)
