Well, I looked about a bit to see what was going on after all, and your fix 
makes sense to me.  I think your fix just exposed some other errors 
elsewhere.  I'll try to fix the newly-exposed issues really quickly since I'm 
here anyway, so somebody tell me if they are already doing this...
