Just for fun I tested your setup.py in Wine, using Mingw32
(www.mingw.org) and Windows Python 2.2.1. It compiles well, but the
installation step tries to recompile the .py files repeatedly (the
compilation works the first time; subsequent compilations skip since
they files are up to date). The result crashes right away but I'm
guessing that's a Wine bug, since I was lucky to get this far. ;-)

For anyone who wants to play with this, here's the command line. Make
sure <mingw>\bin\gcc.exe is in your PATH.

wine python -- setup.py build -c mingw32
