Hmm.  Well, at your suggestion I set the response header Content-Type to
text/xml, but I did so from within ZPT and did so by making a call out to
medusa's request object for the hit.  This did correctly change the
delivered Content-Type.  The same error occurred as I previously reported 
when I put a 'binary' link tag into the document.

Just a note on how atypical my setup is (so you know how little of your
head scratching this bug is worth).  I am not actually running Zope, I am
running a thing called Nooron which I am creating, which happens to use
A.M. Kuchling's Medusa-0.5.2 and depends (for the moment) on the presence
of a Zope-2.5.1 installation out of which ZPT is being loaded.
