[Zope-Coders] Zope does not authorize on 404s

Is there any plans to change this behaviour in core Zope? It's very bad
usability when a logged in user loses all of his menus and other
user-related settings on a 404.
Attached is a monkeypatch from ChrisM, but I would prefer it being fixed
in the proper place. Any reason why Zope shouldn't do auth on 404s?
