I still am a bit concerned that this will fail on, for instance, MacOSX,
where directory names often contain spaces.

Unfortunately the correct way to do it, by using find -print0 and
xargs -0, is known to not work on some plateforms, for instance
Solaris (I'm told).

So I don't know what to do.
