You couldn't have known unless you read every checkin message within 24 
hours.  (Not that you ought to. ;-) )

I suspect the new test runner won't work reliably at first, not because 
the test runner is wrong, but because I think there are still occasional 
ordering dependencies in the tests themselves.  utilities/testrunner.py 
worked around them because it was too hard to fix them at first--there 
were simply too many bugs.  But now the tests are cleaner and it's 
probably worth the effort to clean up whatever might still be wrong.
