Hmmm... this isn't working too well...

The test machine has Python 1.5.2, 2.1.3 and 2.2.2 on it:

chrisw@seshat:~$ python
Python 2.1.3 (#1, May 20 2002, 12:02:16)
[GCC 2.95.2 20000220 (Debian GNU/Linux)] on linux2
Type "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
 >>>
chrisw@seshat:~$ python2.2
Python 2.2.2 (#1, Nov 4 2002, 11:01:21)
[GCC 2.95.2 20000220 (Debian GNU/Linux)] on linux2
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
 >>>
chrisw@seshat:~$ python1.5
Python 1.5.2 (#1, Jul 25 2001, 10:22:00) [GCC 2.95.2 20000220 (Debian
GNU/Linux) on linux2
Copyright 1991-1995 Stichting Mathematisch Centrum, Amsterdam
 >>>

...and yet, after doing ./configure, when I do "make testinst", it fails rather
feebly with:

Configuring Zope installation

Testing for an acceptable Python interpreter...

Python version 1.5.2 found at /usr/bin/python

No suitable Python version found. You should install Python
   version 2.2.2 before continuing. Versions 2.3 2.3a1 2.3a0
also work, but not as optimally.

make: *** No rule to make target `testinst'. Stop.

Should I put this in the collector?

cheers,

Chris
