Current Zope-2_6-branch INSTALL.txt:

    ZOPE 2.6 REQUIRES PYTHON 2.1.X!
Note: Using Python 2.2 is not recommended and not supported.

Current Zope-2_7-branch INSTALL.txt:

Python 2.3.2 or later installed somewhere in the system PATH

AFAICT there was no security audit for Python 2.2.X, so falling back to
2.2.3 wouldn't make any sense. If there are resources for doing an audit
it will be done for Python 2.3.2 and nothing else.

That also means Zope 2.6 and Zope 2.2 will never be a supported
combination. (But of course it would be nice not to break this
combination because many people use it anyway.)

BTW: How likely is it tests pass with 2.1.3 and 2.3.2, but fail with 2.2.3?
