Status: Pending => Resolved
This was my bad - I accidentally uploaded
the .tgz instead of the .exe created by
the installer ;(
Fixed now.

What's the real problem here?
Zope-2.6.4-rc1-win32-x86.tgz is for the 2.6.4 release candidate, and is a precompiled Zope build tree. To use it, just unpack it (e.g., WinZip can do this).
If you want the most recent final release in the 2.6 line, get Zope-2.6.3-win32-x86.exe from
http://zope.org/Products/Zope/

Could you please be so kind to stop crying? I am pretty sure that a
Windows installer will be provided by ZC for the final release.
All people involved in Zope have limited resources. Either ZC has forgotten to brew a release for Windows or they had no time...no need complain in such way...and think about the price for Zope.
You get it for *free*. This means you can use it for free, get some reasonable support through the community for free but it does not
give you the right to insist on Windows installers for every beta or
release candidate.
Thanks,
-aj

"Medium"?
"MEDIUM"??
This is serious. Come on, at least tell us first time Zope'ers _HOW_ to install this system?
What file do I download to turn this .tar.gz tarball into an installed, functioning system on my XP box?
Why does the download page not have a hotfix that contains a working installer?
The first entry mentions that there is an installer on the 2.7 branch, but it doesn't mention if it will work with 2.6; since the 2.7 branch is marked as unstable, developmental, this isn't a trivial concern.
I'm not new to computers, or development. I used to use WebObjects (and EOF) 4.5 a lot; I'm just noticing that the marketplace seems to be switching to python and zope, and I'm trying to keep up with the ever changing workplace. But I've never worked with either Python or Zope before, and now I'm trying to get this up and running.
Medium?
This completely prevents the program from working at all! That's my definition of a priority 1 emergency.

The Windows installer (.exe) is missing from the download area for version 2.6. The .exe is available for 2.7.
