I only get " The object Atest does not support this operation." when trying to import the zexp file.

instantiating a zclass instance resulted in auth box pop up.  no matter what's entered, it'll be wrong.

the same steps on a 2.7.6 works fine.

attached is the zclass from working zope2.7.6
