I've done that building my own class. I want to work on it a little
more before upload to the Zope site, but if you want it now tell
me and I'll email it to you.

The class has two methods, toXML and fromXML, which allow to export/import
objects in XML with explicit control over the process and following an OO
aproach. It's currently useful.
